Equine law is associated with all aspects of horses, horse-related activities and industries, horse businesses, horse organizations and horse facilities. In part, due to our work in the equine industry and its associated legal arena, we have a broad scope of understanding the law in general because many aspects of the law touch on various aspects of equine law, including business transactions, employment and immigration issues, personal injury and liability and much more.
Mr. Shallcross more than understands Equine Law: With his wife, Margo, a horse show judge (pictured, showing “The Black Stallion”), he has lived it. Besides he and his wife being associated with the horse world in several capacities, their daughter, Nicole, served as Captain of the Oklahoma State University Equestrian Team.
Larry and Margo Shallcross served many years on the Horse committee of San Antonio Livestock Exhibition and Larry later served on the International Committee. In addition, he was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas Law School in Equine Law.
Examples of equine law legal services are:
- Preparing and reviewing equine-related contracts (sales and transferences)
- Disputes and litigation related to equine transactions and injuries
- Representing persons in adminstration
- Matters before equine organizations
